Order signed Edme BONNET DE SAINT LÉGER, Grand Master Investigator reformer of the waters and forests of France, in the department of Poitou, Aunis, Saintonge, Angoumois, Limousin, Haute and Basse Marche, Bourbonnais, Nivernais and dependencies. On the request presented by Messire Honoré Comte de STE MAURE, Marquis d'ARCHIAC, Baron de LA TOUR BLANCHE, First Squire Commanding the King's Great Stable, exposes that he is the owner of the land and Seigniory of ARCHIAC in Saintonge of the jurisdiction of the mastery of Rochefort, in the extent of which various private individuals, in disregard of the Orders, hunt with impunity all kinds of game, even in the forbidden times or seasons; that he is the owner of another Land called "LA TOUR BLANCHE" in Angoumois in which.... the inhabitants who are poachers also hunt game... Let us forbid all persons (to hunt, of all kinds of hunting) : Lakes, shoots, Arbors, sledges, odds and ends... at the risk of whipping the first time, and for the second to be castigated, withered, and banished for five years out of the extent of the jurisdiction of the mastery of the places.
