ESSONNE - Armand-Jacques de GOURGUE Marquis de VAYRES [1638-1726]
He was Lieutenant General of the Sénéchaussée de Guyenne, Councillor of State, Intendant of Limoges then of Caen - Very much in court, he obtained from Louis XIV to change the barony of Aulnay that his wife Isabelle Le Clerc du Cottier brought him into the marquisate and became the first Marquis of Aulnay. Letter A.S. "Le Marquis de VAYRES", from Vayres, June 10, 1709. 4 pages in-8°. He received the letter from his correspondent replying to his own, asking him to send his personal businessman in Paris his supporting documents. In return, he would send his own. "I would tell you that I have no businessman other than myself and that since I hardly ever go to Paris anymore, I ask you to send your documents here to someone you trust so that they can be communicated to me and I will communicate mine to them". Above all, he asks him to communicate to him the documents concerning the land of the Marchais farm that he claims to be under his control because of the acquisition that his correspondent made of part of the land of OAK -BÉCART (91) of the late Mr de Framery Seigneur des Vaux - He takes advantage of his letter to inform him that his eldest son had brought him a donation from his aunt Madame de Saint-Thomas, his correspondent owes him the censuses due on these lands "in the time that she was still Lady of the Land of HUISON (91)", by the acquisitions that he could have made through "some legacies both of the Malons and others.»
