Letter signed by the Marshal de Camp, Aide de Camp of King Louis-Philippe Baron ATTHALIN (1784-1856). 2pp in-4° - "Sir, I have received the letter by which Mrs. Les Artistes de l'Opéra Comique informed me of the desire to obtain an audience from His Majesty, in order to ask him to be authorized to place on the poster, which will announce the performance they propose to give in the Olympic Circus Theatre, the words by Order from which they would hope a happy influence on the recipe; I will certainly submit their desire to the King; but I believe.... that the authorization they desire could only be granted to them, according to the King's intentions, already manifested in other circumstances, in the event that His Majesty, or some members of His Family, has a real plan to attend this representation; I have reason to fear that the King's occupations will not allow him on this occasion..."
