(THE 10-HOUR DAY). REPUBLIC BULLETIN N°12 - PARIS, April 6, 1848. "On the Report of the Government Commission for Workers, considering that it is important to give a sanction to the decree of 2 March 1848, as regards the determination of the effective working time in Paris. THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT decrees: Any workshop manager who requires more than 10 hours of effective work from his workers shall be punished by a fine of 50 to 100 francs for the first time; from 100 to 200 francs in the event of a repeat offence and, if there is a double recurrence, by imprisonment which could go from one to six months.
