Léopold FLAMENG French engraver, born in Brussels in 1831, died in Courgent near Mantes in 1911. Acad. des Beaux-Arts. Autogr. letter signed to Aimé GIRON Writer, Paris 4 or 5 September 1856. 4pp in-8° - "My dear GIRON. It would seem to be to hear you that you are the most unhappy of men that you are filled with disappointment and disgust by and for the things of this world. That's today's twenty years! In my time it was different. We liked women, dances and parties. Our hearts were filled with love, faith in us and hope for the future. The goal was achieved by working hard, with love. Also we arrived loaded with works that immediately brought to light advertising were applauded and consecrated... fate is our slave, it is under the yoke of our will...
