VENDÔME (Louis de BOURBON, 5th Duke-Pair of VENDÔME, 4th Duke-Pair of MERCOEUR) Paris 1612 - Aix-en-Provence 1669. He served in Savoy, at the Siege of Arras 1640, Viceroy in Catalonia 1649/51, Commander in Provence 1652, then in Italy 1656. Appointed CARDINAL in 1667, he was Legate of France, natural grandson of Henri IV.
