"Provisions of the Office of GOVERNOR and Lieutenant-General in the country of ANJOU in favour of Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, Prince of LAMBESC" - Grand Parchment (73 X 45) given to VERSAILLES on August 1st 1761 - Exhibit signed LOUIS XV (Secretary) Contresignée PHELYPEAUX - "the particular satisfaction we have of the great and important Services that his ancestors have rendered us on all occasions...., convinced that our said Cousin the Prince of LAMBESC will follow in their footsteps, and will give us, like them, proofs of his zeal, of his value, and of his fidelity to our Service...". LAMBESC (Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, 6th Duke-Pair d'ELBEUF, Count of Brionne, Prince of) Versailles 1751 - Vienna (Austria) 1825 - Grand Ecuyer 1761, last Governor of ANJOU 1761, Colonel of the Royal German Cavalry Regiment, charged, on 12 July 1789, with dispersing the gatherings that had formed on the Place Louis-XV. Emigrated with his Regiment - King Louis XV gave to the young Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, son of Mme de Brionne and of the deceased Prince Louis Charles de LORRAINE, his father's duties on 1 August 1761.
