Autograph letter signed "MIRABEAU", written from NYONS (DRÔME), October 12, 1782. A page in-4° - Beautiful laudatory letter, addressed to a friend: "If it is true my dear Friend, that the greatest peace of mind, the greatest contentment of the soul, the sweetest sensations, are the interior price of virtue, you must be happy...ah ! my dear friend ! That fate, that appearances at least no longer destroy this sweet illusion, and that a venerable and long old age may follow your vigorous autumn!...Here I am, then, among the men filled with your blessings! that it would be sweet of me to owe you gratitude...perhaps I needed such a sacred duty to sustain me in the rough career in which I resolved to walk.
