Patent of registration of Pierre Joseph MARCHAND, a native of Paris, aged 25, "was registered on January 30, 1792 and served as a Volunteer and in the Army of September 6 in the National Guard of Paris and swore to be faithful to the Nation, to the Law, and to maintain with all his power Liberty and Equality or die at his post". PARIS 6 March 1793, Year 2 of the French Republic. Small vignettes of the Capture of the Bastille "Liberty Conquered July 14, 1789" and the "Confederation of the French July 14, 1790."
