The Salle des maréchaux was on the first floor of the Tuileries clock pavilion. It was destroyed in May 1871 when the Communards set fire to the palace.
Pierre Henri Tetar van Elven was an architectural and landscape painter. He worked in Italy and also in France where he painted scenes of Parisian life.
