I have read with attention the decision of the Council which orders the trial for three years of the Conversion to a Corvée in a cash benefit. Every good Frenchman must see, in this wise disposition, with the greatest gratitude, the care that the King gives to the happiness of his people, which cannot be better characterized, than by the invitation that His Majesty makes, to warn of the inconveniences that this new operation can experience... The Earth, which I live in, is situated in Périgord, and confronts the Agenois. In Perigord, my colonist is imposed for a Domain, which I have, for accessory size and capitation of 150 pounds..."
