- BEURNONVILLE (Frédéric de RIEL) General in 1792, Minister of War from 4 February to 1 April 1793, Count of the Empire 1808, Marshal of France on 3 July 1816 - Champignolle (Aube 1752 - Paris 1821). Letter A.S. "Le Général Sénateur Le Comte de BEURNONVILLE" to the castle of BALAINCOURT (Balincourt 95) on 5 June 1811. 4pp in-4° - to Monsieur le Président. His letter made twice the trip from Paris to Balaincourt. He informed him of the death of Madame de GOUVION. "I had to, so to speak, kidnap her excellent husband, who is with us at Balaincourt and whom we console as best we can" then he speaks of a matter of division situated in the Department of the Vendée depending on the Limoges Senate. He asks him to give him the property titles of the Limoges Senator's office and all the documents and papers relating to it. "All the owners of these departments get exactly what they pay for and I like to think I could imitate them. It is the worst service to farmers to leave them in arrears. I know from experience and I stand corrected..." -
