Elémir Bourges / Berthold Mahn LE CREPUSCULE DES DIEUX - Nice edition illustrated by Berthold Mahn and one of the 1050 copies on tinted wove paper from Rives (on sale number 798). Published in Paris, by Henri Jonquières et Cie, in 1927. Covered in a semi-marocco binding with ribbed spine and original covers preserved. Well preserved copy: partly insulated spine, solid hinge, fresh and freckle-free interior. Le Crépuscule des dieux is a novel by Élémir Bourges (1852-1925), published in March 1884 by Giraud. Inspired by the character and destiny of Charles II of Brunswick, the novel tells the story of the life of luxury and debauchery led by Charles d'Este, the deposed sovereign of Blankenbourg, exiled in Paris with his five children.
