DICTATURE DE LA MACONNERIE - New edition, published in Paris, by Bernard Grasset, in 1934. Covered in a red half-marocco binding with ribbed spine and original covers preserved. Well preserved copy: small rubbing used on the headdresses. Solid hinge. Fresh, freckless interior. Robert Vallery-Radot (Robert Marie-René), born in Avallon on 31 July 1885, died on 23 February 1970 in Bricquebec, was a French writer and journalist and, at the end of his life, a Cistercian (Trappist) clergyman. Tempted by fascism during the 1930s and hostile to freemasonry (he was vice-president of the Anti-Masonic Union of France when it was founded in 1935)2 , he joined the Vichy regime in 1940. He was responsible for the drafting of an anti-Masonic leaflet entitled Masonic Documents (1941-1944) with Bernard Faÿ and Jean Marquès-Rivière3. He receives the Francisque. After the Second World War, he sought refuge in Spain.
