"Provisions of the Office of GOVERNOR and Lieutenant-General in the country of ANJOU in favour of Charles-Eugene de LORRAINE, Prince of LAMBESC" - Large Parchment (73 X 45) given in VERSAILLES on August 1, 1761 - Signed LOUIS XV (Secretary) Contresigned PHELYPEAUX - "the particular satisfaction we have of the great and important Services that his ancestors have rendered to us on all occasions...., persuaded that our said Cousin the Prince of LAMBESC will follow in their footsteps, and will give us like them proofs of his zeal, of his value, and of his fidelity to our Service..." - LAMBESC (Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, 6° Duc-Pair d'ELBEUF, Comte de Brionne, Prince de) Versailles 1751 - Vienna (Austria) 1825 - Grand Ecuyer 1761, last Governor of ANJOU 1761, Colonel of the Royal-German Cavalry Regiment, in charge, on July 12, 1789, of dispersing the gatherings which had formed on the Place Louis-XV. He emigrated with his regiment. King Louis XV gave the young Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, son of Mme de Brionne and Prince Louis Charles de LORRAINE deceased, the charges of his father, on August 1st 1761.
