NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Beautiful and impressive image of the International Space Station and the docked Space Shuttle Endeavour, flying at an altitude of about 220 miles. This photograph was taken by Expedition 27 crewmember astronaut Paolo Nespoli from the Soyuz TMA-20 after it undocked on May 23, 2011 (U.S. time). The photos taken by Nespoli are the first taken of a shuttle docked to the International Space Station from the perspective of a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. Aboard the Soyuz were Russian cosmonaut and Expedition 27 commander Dmitry Kondratyev, Nespoli, a European Space Agency astronaut, and NASA astronaut Cady Coleman. Both Coleman and Nespoli were flight engineers. The three men landed in Kazakhstan later in the day after 159 days in space. This was Endeavour's final mission. May 23, 2011.period chromogenic print. The photos taken by Nespoli are the first shots of a raised shuttle to the international space station from the perspective of a Russian space vessel Soyuz. On board the Soyuz were the Russian cosmonaut and commander of the Dmitry Kondratyev shipping, Nespoli, an astronaut of the European Space Agency, and the astronaut of NASA Cady Coleman. Coleman and Nespoli were both flying engineers. The three men landed in Kazakhstan later in the day, after 159 days spent in space. It was the last mission of Endeavor. May 23, 2011.
