110 - Albert DAUZAT (Guéret 1877-1955), linguist.... - Lot 110 - Vermot et Associés
110 - Albert DAUZAT (Guéret 1877-1955), linguist. Important autograph manuscript signed : " L'Ame du Paysan ", 1941, 129 p in-4, with erasures and corrections, in an autograph cover titled, published in " Le Village et le Paysan de France " by Gallimard in 1941. This soul has been forged over the centuries by work, tenacity and suffering, an obscure epic that evolves with the inventions that facilitate work and increase production, new crops and the acclimatisation of new livestock. The result is a regional variety influenced by the soil and climate, a mixture of heterogeneous races that "melted and amalgamated in the melting pot of Gaul, to make a people, the French people, who, despite their provincial nuances, have a unique soul and common characters". Different chapters: peasants and city dwellers (an age-old misunderstanding), fundamental characters (sense of reality, spirit of economy, greed, loyalty, envy, etc.), feeling of family, beliefs and customs, psychology of peasant language, rural exodus, regional psychology, etc.
