147 - Paul MARGUERITTE (1860-1918), writer,... - Lot 147 - Vermot et Associés
147 - Paul MARGUERITTE (1860-1918), writer, founding member of the Académie Goncourt, part of his work was written in collaboration with his brother Victor. Exceptional autograph manuscript: his diary for 1902. Agenda "Au Bon Marché", each day on a page in-8. Most of the days of the year are filled in, some of them in a dense manner. Paul writes down his writing ideas (short stories, plays, novels) which come to him according to current events or his readings. He notes personal considerations (conviction for the incineration), remarks on his health, speaks about his (future?) rosette (Galliffet and Hervieu take care of it), evokes the Goncourt Academy (meeting for the statutes), Hennique, Bourges, Geffroy, his work with his brother Victor, the progress of his personal work, the dinners (with Poincaré), the shows seen, the books read, the accounts with his publisher Plon etc. September 29: "At 4 ½ left for Le Matin, insists on being received, asks for an article on Zola's death for the evening. Astonished at first. I trace in the fever a quick outline and Victor who returns takes up the article and completes it. He takes it to Le Matin.
