288 - [BERLIOZ]. Creation of the Berlioz Museum. Joseph CHARBONNEL (1866-1955), born like Berlioz in La Côte-Saint-André where he was a pharmacist, was president of the Association of the Friends of Berlioz (his grandfather was a childhood friend of Berlioz), and it was on his initiative that a patron donated in 1932 to the Association the house in which Berlioz was born, where a museum was set up, inaugurated in 1935. Important correspondence consisting of 35 signed autograph letters to Antoine Bourdat-Parménie, vice-president of the Association des Amis de Berlioz, 64 p in-4 and 4 p in-8, in which we follow from July 1931 to May 1936 the creation of the Museum at La Côte Saint-André. Enclosed: autograph letter signed by Jacques Marteaux, Secretary General of the Friends of French Music, announcing that Paul Doumer had accepted the Honorary Presidency, and an autograph letter signed by Raymond Escholier, curator of the Maison Victor Hugo ("Pour Berlioz, tout ce que vous voudrez")
