Prince Alexandre de BAUFFREMONT-COURTENAY... - Lot 360 - Vermot et Associés
Prince Alexandre de BAUFFREMONT-COURTENAY (Paris 1773 - Paris 1833) Count of the Empire in 1810, Peer of France 1815, First Duke of Bauffremont 1817. Autograph letter signed to his friend DEMONTS Colonel. The letter left Port-sur-Saône on January 7, 1831. "My Dear Demonts. Be well persuaded that I have never forgotten you and that I have always been informed of what happened to you since your detention in Russia. We have often spoken of you with the good Duchatelet, who neglects me very much because I do not receive any news from him. I heard from Captain Lefevre that you were at Gray, and intended to come and see me. I am very anxious to embrace you after such a long separation. As I am expecting my eldest son about the 12th or 15th and he will only stay a few days with me returning to Sicily where he has his family. I think you would do well not to come until the end of the month, so that we can give each other the pleasure of jokes without being bothered..."
