BERTRAND (Henri, Count) General in 1800. Loyal to NAPOLEON I, he followed him to Elba and St Helena, Deputy of INDRE in 1831. (Châteauroux 1773-1844). Bertrand returned from St Helena to Paris in October 1821. Elected Deputy of Indre in 1831. In 1840, he participated in the return of the ashes of the Emperor. You suppose that my recommendation may be very influential; but in this you may be in great error... My wife (Fanny DILLON who died in 1836) is sensitive to your good memory. We see your nephew often enough..."
