NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Rare. This superb global view of the surface of Venus is composed of mosaics of images from the Magellan spacecraft's synthetic aperture radar. After its radar captures, the data were mapped onto a computer-simulated globe to create this image. Gaps in the data are filled with data from the Pioneer Venus Orbiter, or with a constant mean value. Simulated colours are used to highlight the small-scale structure. The simulated hues are based on colour images recorded by the Soviet Venera 13 and 14 spacecraft. 1991.Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering on the front. Caption on back label. 40.6 x 40.6CM with margins.
