NASA
Nasa. BIG FORMAT. Using data from multiple satellite missions (not all of which are collected at the same time), a team of NASA scientists and graphic designers created global data layers for everything from the Earth's surface to polar sea ice to the light reflected by chlorophyll in the billions of microscopic plants growing in the oceans. They wrapped these layers around a globe, placed them on a black background, and simulated the fuzzy edge of the Earth's atmosphere (the limb) that appears in astronauts' photographs of the Earth. This stunningly beautiful view of the Earth from space is a fusion of science and art. 2007. Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering on the front. Caption on the back. 40,6 x 40,6cm with margins.
