Speedmaster 125 - reference 1780002 Steel chronograph watch with automatic movement. - Steel "helmet" case, graduated inner tachometric bezel on a black and white painted fluted crown, screwed caseback. - Black dial, luminescent (tritium) painted baton hour markers, straight white painted hands, perpetual seconds at 9 o'clock, elapsed minutes totalizers in the center with airplane hand and hours (on 12 o'clock) at 6 o'clock, central arrow second hand for the chronograph function painted in white, 24-hour day/night indication at 9 o'clock, date window at 3 o'clock. - Steel bracelet, steel folding clasp (1221/212). Case, dial, buckle and movement signed. Movement: mechanical with automatic winding. Movement caliber 1041 - numbered 36.253.016 (circa 1973) Case numbered 1780002/378.0801 Dimensions: 42 x 48 mm - Strap length: 20 cm Launched to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Manufacture in 1973, the Speedmaster 125 is the world's first certified self-winding chronograph to be produced in a series of 2,000 pieces. Although massive with its tonneau case and automatic movement, it is as reliable as its mechanical cousin. It was worn by cosmonaut Vladimir Djanibekov on several Soyuz missions. A similar model can be found in the Omega Museum at under reference 332 (page 610). A similar watch (lot 216) was sold at the Omegamania auction on April 14 and 15, 2007 by Antiquorum for 8,850 CHF Condition report: Good general condition, beautiful patina of the indexes, wear scratches and patina on the case, the watch is working at the time of the expertise, without guarantee of functioning over time, a service recommended.
