Chronostop Seamaster - reference 145.008 Steel sports watch with mechanical movement. - Steel cushion case, rotating inner bezel adjustable by crown at 11 o'clock, fluted crowns, screwed caseback. - Pie Pan" slate dial, black painted 1/5th of a second minute track on a white highlight, applied baton markers, straight white painted hands, straight central second hand painted orange. - Black leather strap with orange stitching, metal pin buckle. Case, dial and movement signed. Movement: mechanical with manual winding. Movement caliber 865 - numbered 27.725.486 (circa 1968) Case numbered 145.008 Diameter: 40 mm - Strap length: 16 - 20 cm Launched in 1966, the Chronostop will be produced in the Geneva and Seamaster collections. This version with an inner rotating flange adjustable by crown at 11 o'clock, will be honored during the Pan-American Games in Winnipeg in 1968 and especially during the Winter Olympics in Grenoble and the Summer Olympics in Mexico City in 1968. The caliber 865 developed by Lemania is said to be "flyback", like a flyback, with the difference that the pusher must be kept pressed down to read the measured time and released to restart a new measurement. This device is very useful for measuring short times, complemented by the graduated rehaut, serving as a reference base for the minutes. A similar model can be found in the Omega Museum at under reference 100 (page 548). A similar watch (lot 25) was sold at the Omegamania auction of April 14-15, 2007 by Antiquorum for CHF 4,484. Condition report: Good general condition, patina on the dial, scratches and patina on the case, the watch is working at the time of the expertise, without guarantee of functioning over time, a service recommended.
