NASA. One of the first photographs of the lunar soil taken by the space probe RANGER VII. The RANGERS VII probe was a giant missile sent to the moon and destined to crash on the moon's surface. A few minutes before the impact, the RANGERS VII probe took photographs of the lunar soil which were developed, scanned and sent by radio waves to the Earth. These photographs are among the first close-up human observations of the lunar landscape. 1964. period silver print. NASA logo and typed caption on the back. 25,7 x 20,5CM with margins.
