NASA. View from Earth. Superb bird's eye view of the famous Gilbraltar Strait observed from Space aboard the space shuttle Discovery (Mission STS-39). The only exit from the Mediterranean Sea. This mythical sea has been dried up several times between 5 and 20 million years ago. On the left the south of Spain, the dark part is the delta of the river Guadalquivir with the city of Seville.
