Paris, Sept. 7, 1817. 2 pages in-8°: "I had the honor of mandating a few days ago to Madame la Comtesse de KERGARIOU that you would surely have a leave of absence, Monsieur le Comte... Today, I spoke with Mr. LAINÉ, I found him very willing to authorize your absence in 10 or 12 days... I hope that we will have the pleasure of seeing you in Paris very soon...". Postscript: "Monseigneur has changed his march, and no longer goes to Rochefort, nor to La Rochelle, but to Bourbon-Vendée, Saumur, Angers, Le Mans and Alençon." (The Duke of DAMAS, Aide-de-Camp to Rochambeau during the American War of Independence, had participated in the attempted escape of the royal family in 1791 before emigrating himself. He was appointed Peer of France at the Restoration)
