NASA. LARGE FORMAT. HUBBLE TELESCOPE. This... - Lot 240 - Vermot et Associés
NASA. LARGE FORMAT. HUBBLE TELESCOPE. This is a unique Hubble Space Telescope view of a disk galaxy, tilted almost sideways to our line of sight. Hubble's sharp view reveals a sharp dust line that divides the galaxy into two halves. The image highlights the structure of the galaxy: a subtle reddish bulge surrounding a bright nucleus, a blue disk of stars parallel to the dust lane, and a transparent outer halo. Light dust trails can be seen snaking away from the disk of the galaxy towards the bulge and the inner halo of the galaxy. The outer halo is dotted with numerous gravitational clusters of nearly a million stars each, called globular clusters. Galaxies millions or billions of light years away are also visible through the halo. 2006. 2006 chromogenic print. Numbering in the margin on the front. 40.6 X 40.6CM with margins.
