NASA. LARGE FORMAT. HUBBLE TELESCOPE. The... - Lot 296 - Vermot et Associés
NASA. LARGE FORMAT. HUBBLE TELESCOPE. The narrow galaxy that elegantly wraps around its spherical companion in this image is a fantastic example of a truly strange and rare phenomenon. This image, taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, shows a galaxy located in the constellation Fornax (the Furnace), in the southern hemisphere. This extraordinary galaxy is the largest and one of the most complete Einstein rings ever discovered in our universe. The object has been nicknamed by the principal investigator and his team studying this Einstein ring "the molten ring", alluding to its appearance and its host constellation.Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering in the margin on the front. 40,6 X 40,6CM with margins.
