"I have the honor of sending you a dissertation on a Roman camp located near NANCY, which has not been mentioned until now, even though it is one of the best preserved in all of France. If the (Archaeological) Society would see fit to insert it in its memoirs..." + NANCY, Sept. 17, 1824. "... My trip, Sir, was not in vain, I visited Mount Africa near Dijon and I must rectify some irregularities which are found in the memoir which I have the honor of addressing to you on our Camp of Africa near NANCY... I intend to go shortly to visit a Roman Castellum which is in our vicinity, as well as some ancient tombs. If it is worthwhile, I will have the honor to share my observations with the Society... "
