NASA. Superb view of the far side of the Moon by the space probe LUNAR ORBITER V. It is thanks to the detailed observations of the LUNAR ORBITER missions that NASA was able to choose the landing sites for the APOLLO missions from 1969. The photographs of the LUNAR ORBITER probes were developed on board the space probe, then scanned and sent to Earth as radio signals. Their definition was extremely precise. The data were transmitted through the Deep Space Network station installed at GOLDSTONE in California. October 17, 1967. slightly later silver print. NASA logo (1st generation) and typed legend on the back. 20,4 X 25,7CM with margins.
