FLAHAULT DE LA BILLARDERIE (Charles De)
General and Count of the Empire, Aide de Camp to Napoleon I in 1813, Diplomat, Peer of France, Father of the Duke of Morny (1785 - 1870) - LETTER A.S. PARIS September 24 (circa 1860) - 2pp in-4° : "My dear Colleague, I am leaving tomorrow for LYON where I am going on a very short journey, as my daughter's health does not allow me to make long ones... My project is to embark at CHALONS. Would you be good enough to retain for me a lodging at the Hotel de Provence or the Hotel d'Europe... I will choose it as being closer to the steamboats on the Rhone. My daughter will probably rest one day in LYON... It is in Rome that she will spend the winter with Mrs. De FLAHAULT. I will accompany them to Genoa or Livorno and from there I will go to Vienna. This cruel illness has disturbed my whole existence..."
