PARCHAPPE (Charles Jean Baptiste) Epernay/ MARNE 1787 - 1866 - Major General, Deputy of the MARNE to the Legislative Body, Director of the War Administration - Seven Autograph Letters Signed + a Profession of Faith - in-8° : STRASBOURG (67) October 25, 1830 - Letter A.S. to Mr NOVINCE in PARIS - 4pp in-4° : "... I tested your firm and loyal conduct when I saw you at the Bourse at the head of the National Guard that you commanded in our sublime Days of JULY, refusing me the command of LA BOURSE because the order which conferred it to me was not approved by General LA FAYETTE and then giving it back to me with the best grace in the world when I received the approval. I will never forget the order that you had established in the middle of an unprecedented tumult and the measures of any foresight that you took so that the wounded receive care, the prisoners food, the combatants cartridges... I arrived in Strasbourg on the 22nd, after having travelled through the Seine, the Marne, and the Meurthe et Moselle. Everywhere I saw the inhabitants of the cities and the countryside perfectly disposed. There is not a town, not a city where there is not an armed and dressed National Guard; that of Strasbourg is admirable and very numerous. The Regiment received a very good welcome in the towns it crossed...". + PARIS December 16, 1841 - L.A.S. to Mr. MAHÉ RAULT Maıt̂ re des requêtes : "You have been able to appreciate the extent of the troubles I have experienced for some months recalled from AFRICA in spite of myself, and displaced from a Command that had been given to me on my request." (Extract) 4pp in-8° + 5 Letters to PANCKOUCKE; He asks to send him the Monitor in Champrosay by DRAVEIL (Seine-et-Oise)
