COLLECTIVE - The art of cooking rice. A small collection of practical recipes to enhance the value and appreciation of an excellent French colonial product. Paris, Les Ecoles de Cuisine du "Cordon Bleu", S.d. (circa 1st quarter 1931), ORIGINAL EDITION, in-8, glossy, text in blue on pale green background, 46 pp. ads in black. A rice recipe book known by amateurs and bibliophiles, published in 1934, but here presented in the 1931 Original Edition. This booklet was sold for the first time at the Exposition Coloniale, Pavillon de la Cochinchine, during the exhibition from May 6th to November 15th 1931. This edition was also on sale at the "Cordon Bleu", 129 faubourf St-Honoré in Paris from the same date. The title of the edition was "l'art d'accommoder le riz. A small collection of practical recipes for cooking, pastry and desserts"! The aim of this book was to promote the production of rice in the Asian colonies of France. "To enrich Indochina is to enrich France"! The recipes would have been written by Henri-Paul Pellaprat, then a teacher at the cooking school of Miss Marthe Distel. Stamp in blue of E. Bonneau on the title page and having been part of the Library of the city of Châtellerault (reading card glued on the last page and vignette glued at the bottom of the cover with a storage number as well as an inscription with a pen on the third cover), VERY RARE. Good condition of the paper; cover soiled but not missing.
