"This book is not strictly speaking a cookery book, but it is the complement of the one I have already published under the title "Le livre de cuisine". The tone is set by the author himself. It is still a book where the author teaches us the knowledge and the conservation of food. Three distinct parts: preserves in general - petits fours, candies and candied fruits - recipes for the sick and convalescent. Ref Vicaire 418 - Oberlé - Fastes 229. RARE in first edition with the author's frontispiece. Good condition; cover slightly faded, quires not aligned but solidly bound, a cut of a rectangle of paper on the pre-title page but not affecting the text, very few scattered freckles.
