Jouve et Cie, July 1930, ORIGINAL EDITION, limited edition of 150 copies, gd. in-8, softback, framed and text in black on cream background, 142 - (2) pp, strong cream paper, black photo of the author with his signature on the frontispiece, illustrated with 3 black photos, tributes, biographical note by Louis Galle, details on the name Jonkauskas, table of contents, nice SENDING in pen from the author to Prosper Montagné dated 1930 (pre-title page). The author was head chef of the restaurant "Marquis de Cholmondeley" in London. He was a contributor to the magazine "L'Art Culinaire" in Paris. He also worked at the Marble Palace in St. Petersburg for the Grand Duke Michel Alexandrovitch and then in Paris for the Russian ambassador. This work is a book of testimonies of his meetings and his culinary practice during his life of travel and cooking. He also insists on the notion of hygiene in the kitchen and is very attracted by vegetarian diets and the foods related to them. This book comes from the library of the cook Prosper Montagné. Very RARE, for the book but also for the ownership. Very good condition of the paper; the cover is very slightly faded with some folds and small tears but not missing.
