A very nice copy with a beautiful letter from the author of which unfortunately little is known! This book is the history of wine through the ages since Bacchus through the history of the vine in France, the great vintages of antiquity, how we drank in the good old days, the methods of cultivation, grape varieties, distribution, fairs and storage in the warehouses of St Bernard and Bercy. Very beautiful and numerous illustrations and very nice binding, sober and unsigned. Nice copy.
