Parchment (20 x 31 cm) - (In the middle of the Hundred Years' War, Jean I de Gramont, will take an oath of fidelity to King Henri IV of England, in 1410, on the occasion of his marriage to Marie Montaud, Lady of Mussidan, who brought him as a dowry the Citadel of Blaye, the key to the Gironde and the lock of protection for Bordeaux. This tribute was renewed by François I de Gramont, son of Jean I, in 1439. This did not prevent him a few years later, in 1442, sensing the weakening influence of the Kings of England in Aquitaine, from handing over the citadel of Blaye to the King of France Charles VII).
