Cycling/Suter/Derby/Peugeot/Stayer/Switzerland/Kubler/Luxembourg/Courbevoie. Extremely rare original poster: "Bordeaux-Paris 1925, the Derby de la Route, is won by Henri SUTER, on a GRIFFON bicycle...". The first great Helvetian champion in history (1899-1978), a real phenomenon, and not just because of a professional career running, please, from 1918 to 1946, in which he defended with talent the colors of Gurtner, Peugeot, Olympique, Dilecta, Genial-Lucifer and of course GRIFFON (from Courbevoie, a Peugeot sub-brand). This sturdy Romanche was the king of one-day races, first on the road, then on the track as a stayer. His big years were 1923, when he triumphed in Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders, and 1925, when he won the Derby (here, beating three Belgian specialists, Alavoine and Christophe) and the GP Wolber. But in 1926 and 27, he was still creating sparks in the Paris-Tour. A multiple Swiss champion on the road and then middle-distance, he also shone in the Zurich Championship and the Tour du Léman. After switching to track and middle-distance racing, he became an outstanding stayer, finishing runner-up in Switzerland in 1943 at the age of 44! In 1947, he led the Luxembourg-Switzerland team in the Tour de France revival, and Ferdi Kubler, his protégé and pupil (who went on to win the Tour 50), won two stages, including the first, and wore the yellow jersey.
