SEINE MARITIME. CAUDEBEC-EN-CAUX. Signed... - Lot 261 - Vermot et Associés
SEINE MARITIME. CAUDEBEC-EN-CAUX. Signed document (on oblong vellum) from King LOUIS XVI (secretary), countersigned by Charles GRAVIER DE VERGENNES, drawn up in VERSAILLES, June 3, 1785. Marie-Anne Follope, widow Bernard, has informed the King "that a portion of the walls of the town of Caudebec adjoining her house is falling into ruin and is no longer of any use, and that its fall could even become dangerous". In response, the King drew up the present patent, authorizing the plaintiff to demolish the said portion of the town walls, and to keep the materials as payment for the demolition and the works to be carried out as a result.
