Kevin Keegan's Liverpool win their first European Champion Clubs' Cup at the expense of Berti Vogts' Borussia Mönchengladbach (3-1). Keegan's Reds played 17 matches in 4 weeks before this consecration, the last for Keegan, who left for Hamburg. A rarity.
