Omnisport/ Scolaire/ Eclaireur /Alsacienne. It's a private school, and pilot, which played a major role in the beginnings of the boom in France, we want to talk about the Ecole Alsacienne, we have here two badges of its Association Athlétique Alsacienne: a) Very old embroidered badge, with six snaps on the back, and traces of fatigue, which do not alter its power: the Three embroidered golden A's, the three crowns in the white band, and the famous motto "Ludus pro patria".Enhanced by a black border. Circa 1930. 8x7.5; b) Silk crest, with the three A's in the central white band, the three gold crowns popped out on either side. Red background, gold trim. Circa 1950. 10x8.5. A rare item. The pioneers of this school can be seen in photos from the 1890s, on the first grounds of the Bois de Boulogne. This school, where the great cycling educator Daniel Clément taught the sport in the early 50s, was a finalist in the first French school football-rugby championship in 1890, and even champion in 1892.
