Rugby/ Ferrasse/ Foundation. Set of 8 pieces on a major figure in French and world rugby, Albert Ferrasse d'Agen et Tonneins (1917-2011) was French champion in 1945, referee, president of the FFR (elected 7 times from 1968 to 1991) and FIRA, and the man behind the creation of the World Cup in 1987. He was also the first Frenchman to receive the Vernon Pugh Award, and in 1990 he set up a foundation in his name, which is still in operation today, to help rugby's most seriously injured players and orphans:a) two accreditations (Manager) for the Punta del Este 7-a-side tournament in 1996 (14.5x10.5); b) a tie pin, gilded metal with enamelled rooster, tricolor; c) three embroidered fabric badges, Fondation Albert Ferrasse, FFR; PAEA, FIR (elephant); d) large and rare Fraisse medal, FFR, for the France-British Lions match of 4/10/1989 (in Paris, 27-29, with Berbizier, Sella, Blanco) (Diam 8cm); e) large silver medal (?) with blue silk ribbon, "Rugby amitié, regroupe les grands blessés du rugby" (with symbolic handshake on a ball), diam: 10 cm).
