Collective first edition, and one of the few copies in octavo format, on large paper (fine vellum) of this collection compiled by Jean Baptiste Antoine Suard and Simon-Jérôme Bourlet de Vauxcelles, which revolves around Diderot: two of his works are given, including the first-edition 'Supplément au voyage de Bougainville', which alone occupies almost a third of the volume. - Also by Diderot, 'Entretien d'un philosophe avec la Maréchale de M***' - Emilie du Châtelet's 'Réflexions sur le bonheur', a private text composed between 1744 and 1746, which remains her only personal work.
