LEMAITRE (J.): Contes blancs. Floury, 1900. In-8 period sand cloth bradel, entirely untrimmed, Cons. cover, first edition. A fine publication produced at the instigation of Octave Uzanne. Each page is adorned with a large composition framing the text and jostling the typography. The subjects (flowers and snow-covered landscapes) are the work of Blanche Odin, a delicate artist specializing in floral decors. The compositions are watercolored by hand, with remarkable softness and refinement, all in a pronounced fin-de-siècle style. Limited edition of 210 copies, this one with a suite of compositions before watercolor.
