Nasa. RARE. Historic photograph of astrophotography. Observation from the Lick telescope. The Lick telescope is located on the Diablo Range in California. It is one of the very first terrestrial observatories where mankind discovered the appearance of the galaxies and nebulae of our universe. Here, an extra-galactic spiral nebula: Messier 63 in the Hound Dog Constellation. The brightest star next to the nebula is of 9th magnitude. Circa 1930.period silver print on chamoix paper. Handwritten annotations and descriptions in pencil on the back. 13x18CM with margins.
