NASA/US Air Force. BOEING X-20 DYNA-SOAR experimental aircraft concept designed to be launched by a Titan III rocket. This program was conceived to design a spaceplane capable of a variety of military operations: aerial reconnaissance, bombing, space rescue, satellite maintenance and space interception. At the time, it was the most successful manned flight concept, but did not see the light of day until 1981, with the launch of the American Space Shuttle, or more recently, the Boeing X-40 and X-37B.Vintage silver print.
