NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Historic mission of the Space Shuttle Challenger (STS 41B). 1st flight by a free man in untethered space. Astronaut Bruce McCandless photographed during an extravehicular activity (EVA), taken from inside the space shuttle's aft flight deck. He uses his hands to control his movement in space while operating the nitrogen-powered maneuvering unit (MMU).
