NASA. Photograph from Earth orbit. This high-angle panoramic view, recorded by a digital camera using a 400 mm lens, shows the eye of Hurricane Emily. The image was captured by the crew of the International Space Station as the complex hovered over the southern Gulf of Mexico, looking east towards the rising moon. At the time, Emily was a strengthening Category 4 hurricane, with winds near 155 mph, moving west-northwest across the northwestern Caribbean Sea, about 135 miles southwest of Kingston, Jamaica. 2005.period chromogenic print.
